Chris held a baby!!!

Our friend that we met playing disc golf, Nate and his wife Sarah, had a baby last Monday 3.28.  His name is Teddy.  Cute as a button.  We went over yesterday to visit.  He was tiny but I guess not really since he was 9 + lbs coming out.  Au Naturale for Sarah.  Way to go!!!  I held him first and then persuaded Chris to hold him.  Now for some of those who know Chris the last time he was asked to hold a baby, he almost passed out.  We had visited our friends, Cheriene and Doug, in the hospital a couple of days after Maddie was born and Doug asked if Chris wanted to hold her.  He says he almost blacked out but he did't.  I held her though.  This time, he was sitting on the couch next to me while I held Teddy and I said come on you can do it.  I passed the baby off and he held him for like 20 minutes.  Good for you Chris!!!  It wasn't so bad.  He was sleeping most of the time.  He was also swaddled up pretty tight so didn't move much.  Congrats to Nate and Sarah.
The other thing we did at Nate and Sarah's was to see how their pack and play was set up.  I don't have a lot of experience with newborns so I didn't realize that you could use the pack and play for them.  I had only really seen them used for older babies.  But Nate and Sarah had theirs set up in their living room and there is a nice changing table attachment that goes on the top.  We don't have that but look for it on my registry which should be coming soon.  When I had set up the pack and play before, there was this extra stuff that we had but didn't know what to do with.  After we got back from Nate and Sarah's, we set it up again and put the mattress up where it is supposed to be.  We didn't really want to have the baby in the room with us for the first couple of weeks and the idea of me getting up 20 times a night to walk up the stairs to her room to feed her did not sound fun for me.  Now, we can use the pack and play at least for the first couple of weeks so that I don't have to go up and down stairs and she won't be in the room with us.  Genius!!!  Some of these things you just have to see them used in real life in order for things to click for you.  Here is a picture of the way the pack and play is supposed to be set up...

We also did some more painting in the kid's room.  We have some more to do but they look so cute so far.  Chris did all of the free hand stuff since my stick figure is terrible.  I am good at the stenciling.  I am so excited that it is coming along so well.  She is going to love it.
Oh, also she has been moving a lot lately and Chris felt his first kick.  Yeah!!!
Here are some pics of the room so far...

Hope the weather is treating all of you a little better.  We got about 2 inches of wet slushy snow and it is mostly gone now.  Hopefully that was the last of it but you know New England...
